The Harvard Guide to Women's Health, by Karen J. Calson, M.D., Stephanie A. Eisenstat, M.D., and Terra Ziporyn, Ph.D.
Published in 1996, paperback, hardback, or
CD-Rom, 718 pages.
This is a more general guide to women's health,
so it does not go into the depth of an area specific book, but
I believe that it is an essential guide for all women to own.
You can quickly and easily determine if your symptoms warrant
serious concern, and every section has suggested topics to look
at, so you can really know what sort of problem you are looking
at and which doctor you should go see. I used mine to determine
that I really was depressed, and that I should go see my
oncologist about it. I also used it to determine that my abdominal
pain truly was unusual and I should go see my internist.
If it happens to a woman's body, it's in this book.
