Day of the Cheetah, by Dale Brown
Published in 1993, paperback.
If you enjoy military adventure novels and
you have never read Dale Brown, shame on you! Brown is one of
the best at developing drama and strong characters at the same
time. His dialogue is superb, his stories entertaining, and his
research thorough.
This is the first book of Brown's that I read
and it is still my favorite. It involves a soviet agent who has
gone deep cover in the American system for so long that he has
reached the highest levels of security. Although the villain,
he is just as engrossing and interesting as Patrick McLanahan,
our hero and a recurring character in Brown's novels. The plot?
The soviet spy must steal the latest, and secret, cheetah aircraft.
It sounds simple. It's not. But it is a GREAT read!
